Characteristics |
PSF |
|
PEEK |
- Excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and radiation resistance; the most commonly used super engineering plastic
- Almost no leachables, suitable for wafer carriers due to weldability
|
PAI |
- Superior mechanical properties and durability at high temperatures, low linear expansion coefficient leading to minimal shrinkage
- Flame retardant with a wide usage temperature range
- Swells with water absorption, leading to expansion with moisture or water exposure
|
PES |
|
PPS |
- Excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability (virtually zero water absorption, low linear expansion coefficient)
- Weldable, used in items that don't require the performance of PEEK
|
PTFE |
- Superior heat resistance, chemical resistance, friction characteristics, electrical properties, and corrosion resistance; used in various fields such as food and semiconductor industries
- High linear expansion coefficient and significant shrinkage, leading to poor dimensional stability
- Excellent coefficient of friction (good slip characteristics) but susceptible to scratches
|
PCTFE |
- Fluororesin with excellent gas barrier properties, particularly low water vapor transmission rate among plastics
- Slightly lower heat and chemical resistance compared to PTFE and PFA, but excellent dimensional stability and mechanical properties at low temperatures
|
PEI |
- Maintains high strength at high temperatures, excellent electrical properties
- Moderate wear resistance, prone to chipping
|
PVDF |
- Superior mechanical properties among fluororesins
- Flame retardant, weather resistance, radiation resistance
- High heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and compliance with food hygiene laws, widely used in welding tanks and various components
|
PFA |
- Maintains mechanical strength within a wide range of -200°C to 260°C, stable for use
- Higher hardness compared to PTFE, good scratch resistance, excellent dimensional stability
|
ECTFE |
|
FEP |
|
PI |
- Superior heat resistance compared to PAI. Excellent mechanical properties and durability at high temperatures, high purity makes it suitable for harsh conditions in semiconductor, LCD, aerospace, and space industries
- Highly priced material, second only to PBI
